Our Mission

On the heels of 2020's historic victories across the country and new census data showing Asian American & Pacific Islanders as the fastest growing population in the U.S., Westchester Asian American Democrats (WAAD) launched with the mission to engage and increase the AAPI electorate in Westchester, as well as to:

  • Act as a vehicle to disseminate Democratic party values and implement its policies in Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities throughout Westchester County;

  • Provide a forum to address political concerns of the Westchester county AAPI community;

  • Enhance the visibility of and empower Westchester's AAPI community;

  • Promote voter education, participation, and representation of its members in different branches of government and the political process in Westchester county;

  • Recruit, train, and support AAPI candidates to run for public office in Westchester.
